Quality Assurance Engineer (Web)

Job Description

For our client we are looking for a highly-motivated QA Engineer who will be responsible for delivering and executing tests on the web. The ideal candidate should have in-depth knowledge of core web technologies, a solid understanding of how web browsers work, programming expertise, and proficiency with web developer tools for various browsers. You will join a dynamic team that conceptualizes, iterates, and executes new features on an ongoing basis.

 

Responsibilities

This role encompasses a diverse set of responsibilities which includes: 

  • Enhance current testing infrastructure and validating builds and deployments for maps on web releases. 
  • Work closely with the development team to design and implement new tools, in order to continuously improve both the quality of the product and the processes of the team.

 

Skills and Requirements

  • Education: Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience with testing large scale web applications, along with analytical thinking to build clear, concise, and comprehensive test scenarios and test plans.
  • Ability to investigate, debug and triage difficult problems both independently and cooperatively.
  • Practical experience with Web technologies, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JavaScript test frameworks (e.g. MochaJS, Cypress, Playwright). 
  • Familiarity with Chai and Node.js.
  • Knowledge of software development tools like SVN, Git, Bash, Make, Xcode.
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud environments (AWS or GCP).
  • Strong automation skills and CI/CD pipeline experience.
  • Experience in Agile software development methodologies/Scrum and rapid releases.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross functional teams.
  • Proactive, self-motivated approach, comfortable taking the initiative.
  • Desire to succeed in a challenging and fast-paced environment.

 

Additional Requirements

Knowledge of one or more of these areas would be valuable but not required:

  • Understanding of network security fundamentals / security testing / privacy.
  • Performance testing.
  • Experience with Python scripting language.

 

Location: Malmö, Sweden

Work Arrangement: On-site, 5 days in the office
